Handy hints

If you are going into storage, be prepared, make sure you have defrosted the fridge/freezer so that it does not defrost in storage! Always leave the doors ajar of fridges, freezers and washing machines etc especially if long term storage as this will prevent mould. Empty out any appliances which may contain water in them.

For long term storage remove batteries etc from appliances and pack them seperately to prevent leaking and damage.

Any perishable items, observe dates and do not store beyond the recommended best by date.

For items you are needing to retrieve, keep them accessible at the front of the container so that you do not need to unpack the container to retrieve them.

Any matresses in polythene bags, ensure that the bag is open so that the matress can breath.

Put the heavier items on the bottom and lighter items on top to prevent damage.

Wrap any fragile items such as pictures and mirrors.

Mark the box with it’s contents, so that you know exactly what is where!
