When packing books put them in a small box, or pack a larger box half full and fill up with lighter items.
Roll carpets and rugs up, face of the rug or carpet inner-most to protect it, never fold.
Do not put tape on glass, mirrors, veneer or wood surfaces, as when it is peeled off, it will leave a residue of tape and glue, and can potentially tear and break off the surface it has been put on.
REMEMBER, always keep important documents, keys, telephone numbers needed, a pen and paper, to one side and try not to pack them!
China and glass should be put into a medium sized box, with the heavier plates wrapped individually and put vertically together on the floor of the box. Extra paper ‘scrunched up’ can be put on the bottom of the box for the plates to sit on top of, for extra protection.
Always pack heavier items at the bottom of a box, put scrunched up paper to fill in any gaps. Try to create layers of packing and protect between the layers.
